Jeff Apple Benowitz is a prolific Alaskan Alpinist, having put up many new ascents all over the Alaska Range. You can't look through The American Alpine Journal's Alaska section without seeing his name. He has been published in many climbing magazines and written award-winning essays, all of which reveal his unique mountain humor. Jeff has tought teaching in Yosemite while working on a book about the Hayes Range with Carl Tobin, and begins his Ph.D. at The Univ. of Alaska, Fairbanks on the uplift history of the Alaska Range this fall, where he also teaches rock climbing. Benowitz is a 2006 winner of the Mugs Stump Award. Jeff is a Contributor and Regional Correspondent for Alaska, and joins us from the US.
