Carl Battreall

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Since moving to Alaska in 2001, Carl has committed himself to the exploration and documentation of Alaska's wild and remote mountain wilderness, focusing on the rarely explored and the most environmentally threatened areas. Carl is also a highly regarded glacier travel instructor and guide. Carl is a internationally published photographer and writer whos work can be seen in such publications as: Climbing, Nature's Best, Outdoor Photographer, Polo, Lenswork, PhotoMedia, Mountain Bike and numerous calendars and books. His fine art prints have been in numerous group and solo exhibits throughout the United States and are part of the permanent collection at the Anchorage Museum of History and Art. Carl is the 2007 recipient of the Daniel Housberg Award for Excellence in Still and Conservation Photography. He lives in Anchorage, Alaska with his wife Pam, son Walker and Grizzly, the dog.
