Contributing Editor Andreas Sommer has been called one of the most experienced whitewater experts in the Himalayas due to his extensive list of descents in the highest playground in the world. With multiple first descents in some of the remotest locations possible, he has contributed to the exploration of rivers in Nepal, India and Siberia. As freelance photographer and author he has placed articles and photos in national and international Magazines and has starred as model in international Video and TV productions as well as for product placements off different international companies. He has acquired an in depth knowledge about textiles, designs and manufacturing used in the sports sector and has successfully designed various products as well as he is working in close relation with various R&D sectors for different manufacturing industries. He has worked with governments and the tourism industries to explore and/or develop various remote regions into eco friendly and sustainable adventure destinations. Andy is a Contributing Editor to our Altitude Kayaking Series and joins us from Nepal and Germany.
