Help the Children of Nepal
The Social Development Centre Nepal has been in effect since 2006. It's a small home for orphans, and half-orphans (single parent invalid or not capable of caring for the child), located in the Kathmandu neighborhood of Khusibu near Naya Bazaar. Here, these children receive nourishment, shelter, education and medical attention.
Volunteer in Nepal
If you've travelled to Nepal, and fallen in love with its people, and have a desire to help them, now you can. The Mountain Fund has a visitor center in Kathmandu that assists people in finding an appropriate place to volunteer, and supports them while they are volunteering. Our staff in Kathmandu can help make any volunteer experience go more smoothly by taking care of in-country travel arrangements, housing and home-stay accommodations, airport pick up and a host of other logistic needs that volunteers might have.
The Visitor Information Center in Nepal
Kathmandu, Nepal: Want to volunteer in Nepal? Not sure where to start? The new location of the Visitor Information Center is in Thamel, across from KEEP. This center is provided by The Mountain Fund, and has a coffee bar; and offers free internet to the volutneers. There is also a homestay program available for those who need it.
