The Kelty BRD at the Khumbu icefall after 10 hard days on the trail.
The size of the Kelty Big Rolling Duffel is useful in storing both team and personal gear all in one bag. On my most recent trip to Everest, I fit my mountaineering clothes, double boots, axes, crampons, trekking poles, backpack, and much more all in the BRD, freeing me up to only bring a small bag for personal items on the plane. This makes the travel experience itself much more enjoyable (maybe not for the airline baggage handlers, tho...)
Getting to the airport and then to the destination where I pack up on yaks and porters is easy with the BRD. The wheels take a load off your back, but aren't as user friendly as other more expensive in-line skate wheels on other bags.
The frame is made of strong but light alloy with axles running through the entire frame, but on my trip the frame got pretty bunged up and separated from the main pack frame, however this didn't impair it's usability. The zippers are covered with treated fabric to shed water and the entire duffel itself is water repellent and moderately durable (having been not only thrown around on 5 flight transfers and countless yaks and porters and endured snow rain and wind on the trail.)
It's a good bag - I still prefer the Patagonia Freightliner Max (but it's considerably -- currently retailing @ $325, over $115 more expensive than the BRD,) so if you're on a budget and need a huge gear bag, this is it!
