The alpinist’s harness—with proven performance since sometime around the Pleistocene—the A-Bod is simple, minimal, perfected and classic. The Alpine Bod features quick-release leg loop buckles for easy on or off without removing your crampons. The lightweight design is sewn from durable, quick-dry nylon webbing and packs tightly to fit inside your pack. Each size is widely adjustable to accommodate clothing layers and features four handy gear loops.

I am not a professional climber, but in my work on Everest I am sometimes called upon to throw on a harness and do my best under frequently suboptimal conditions to get to my patient in an emergency. Frequently I don't have time to prepare, time's a-wasting, I don't have time to fumble around with, or worry about the reliability of my harness.  I need a light weight, comfortable, easy to get in and out harness ... and this is it!

I used this harness in the Khumbu icefall on Everest, and it served me well. The lack of added weight, additional bulk or cold from metal buckles usually located on the inner thigh of most "Adjustable" or "Alpine" harnesses was much appreciated in the Alpine Bod.

Big feet?  Clumsy crampons?  Using this harness is no problem; the easy clips could be used, but the leg loops fit easily over my La Sportiva Spantiks with crampons.
