Whether I was traveling to South America or just flying within the US for a climb or other gear-intensive pursuit, I'd always want the Mountain Hardwear Juggernaut rolling duffel. This is one of those gear items that once you have it, you don't know how you lived without it before. This has got to be one of the better and burlier rolling duffels on the market, and the size of the Juggernaut 115 is valuable in storing both team and personal gear all in one bag.
I can fit my mountaineering clothes, double boots, axes, crampons, ski poles, backpack, and much more all in the Juggernaut, freeing me up to only bring a small bag for personal items on the plane. This makes the travel experience itself much more enjoyable.
Getting to the airport and then to your destination where you leave all travel bags behind is much easier with the Juggernaut. The wheels are large in-line skate wheels which, when pulling over bumpy terrain in some countries, is a joy vs traditional travel bag wheels which have no play or cause the bag to tip at the slightest bump in the road.
The frame is made of strong but light alloy with a steel axle running through the entire frame. The zippers are coated to shed water and the entire duffel itself is waterproof and durable.
The inside of the bag has 2 zippered mesh storage compartments and one larger non-mesh which helps to compartmentalize and keep some items from ending up at the bottom of the bag during the flight, and easier to find after. I really like the bag just next to the handle, that is inside the duffel but offers an easy access storage when you are traveling - vs having to open up a duffel, your need to have items are right there.
There are also inner straps to keep gear inside synched down and compressed, as well as outer straps allowing you to strap some items to the outside that you can take off and carry later.
All told, I love this duffel, don't know how I traveled without it before, and wish I could give one to everyone I know. It's that sweet.
