First Ascent of Gravity's Test, WI6+

My expedition partner and I, Alain Denis, used these ropes repeatedly for multi-pitch ice climbing this winter and were amazed at how they worked extremely well in wet conditions. Only Sterling ropes offer a unique feature called, "DryCore". DryCore is Sterling's innovative way of treating the core yarns so as to reduce yarn-on-yarn abrasion and moisture absorption. The core provides the strength and power of your rope. If your rope gets wet, it loses critical strength and elongation will increase. In fact, tests have shown that a wet rope can lose up to 30% of its strength. In tests conducted at Sterling, wet ropes constructed with DryCore had less increase in elongation than standard ropes and maintained their strength characteristics while ropes without DryCore did not. I found the ropes to be extrmely light and pack well, enabling us to have more of an alpine style approach. I also found them to work well at the belays and didn't seem to tangle themselves together at all. Bonus. I give them 5 STARS.
